The evening will feature a particularly personal chapter in South Africa’s wine history: the remarkable story of Pinotage, the country’s signature grape variety, created in 1925 by Gerhard’s great-grandfather, Professor Abraham Izak Perold. Through family heritage, fascinating stories and memorable wines, Gerhard will bring to life the passion, innovation and spirit behind every glass.

During the evening, you will also hear entertaining tales of South African life and culture from storyteller Andy Copps.
