DHS Old Boy elected Lord Mayor of London

The South African Chamber UK proudly congratulates Alderman Bronek Masojada (OB 1978) on his election as the 698th Lord Mayor of the City of London. He will succeed Lady Mayor Dame Susan Langley DBE and take office at the Silent Ceremony at Guildhall on 13 November.
Bronek follows fellow Durban High School Old Boy Sir Gavyn Arthur (OB 1968), who held this historic office from 2002–2003, a remarkable distinction for the school and its proud Old Boys fraternity.
Born and brought up in Durban, Bronek attended Durban High School before studying Civil Engineering at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. A Rhodes Scholarship then took him to Trinity College, Oxford, where he earned an M.Phil. in Management Studies.
Following an international career with McKinsey & Company, Bronek joined Hiscox in 1993. During his 21 years as Chief Executive, he helped build the business into a global specialist insurer, employing more than 3 500 people across 35 offices by the time he stepped down in 2021.
Alongside his business achievements, Bronek has made a significant contribution to the insurance industry, civic life and community development. Elected Alderman of Billingsgate in 2019, his service reflects a commitment to both the City of London and the communities it serves.
DHS Old Boys extended its warmest congratulations to Bronek and his family. From Durban to the City of London, his remarkable journey is a source of pride for the Blue and Gold and an inspiration to future generations of DHS boys.
