Late Summer Drinks Delivers Another Memorable Evening for the Chamber Community
Our Late Summer Drinks reception, kindly hosted by Investec, brought together members, partners, guests and friends of the Chamber for an evening that perfectly captured the spirit of the South African business community in the UK.
Set against the backdrop of a beautiful September evening, guests gathered on Investec’s spectacular terrace overlooking the City of London. With clear skies, great company and a relaxed atmosphere, the event provided the ideal setting for meaningful conversations, new introductions and reconnecting with familiar faces after the summer period.
We were delighted to welcome South African High Commissioner Kingsley Mamabolo and members of the South African High Commission team, whose presence highlighted the importance of the relationship between South Africa and the United Kingdom and the strength of the community that continues to support it.
The evening also featured insightful contributions from John Wade-Smith of the SA-UK Trust Network, Tricia Cassidy of mothers2mothers and Luc Janssens, who each shared perspectives on the importance of collaboration, community engagement and creating meaningful impact. Their stories served as a reminder that strong networks are built not only through business, but also through shared purpose and a commitment to making a difference.
Alongside the networking and thought-provoking discussions, guests enjoyed wonderful hospitality from Investec, a selection of South African wines courtesy of Perold Wine Cellar, and authentic South African biltong from Biltong Boss. Combined with the warm atmosphere and stunning views across the London skyline, it created a little taste of South Africa in the heart of the capital.
Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of the evening was seeing the connections being made throughout the event. Existing relationships were strengthened, new members were welcomed into the community and countless introductions took place between professionals, entrepreneurs and business leaders from across the UK-South Africa network.
