What can business learn from sport, and where can sport learn from business?

Don Armand, a Zimbabwean-born former England international rugby union player, will speak about various aspects of his sports career that served as key learning points for his move into the business world. 

Now running a leadership development business that deals with strategy, leadership and culture, Don will share his insights into the machinations of business. Playing professional sport at high levels provided Don with discipline and character as well as in-depth knowledge of how a team works and how to get results through working on the culture, communication and individual development of a team. Don is now able to apply these traits to his international client base.
 
Some of the key points covered will be:

•   Communicating to different personalities

Biography – Don Armand

Don Armand was born and raised in Zimbabwe, before moving to South Africa where he attended Maritzburg College and UCT to study Psychology and Oganisational Psychology. Having a successful rugby career that saw him play for Stormers, Exeter Chiefs and England, Don gained invaluable experience on the inner workings of various high-performance environments, leaders and cultures, what worked and what did not. Now Don owns a leadership development business that allows him to combine those skills, with the principles of leadership, drawing first hand on elements that do and don’t work in practice, as well as insights as to why leadership styles or process need careful attention to be effective.
