For background: Sisters Grimm Ltd, the B-Corp certified company co-founded in 2009 by Grammy-nominated composer and painter Ella Spira MBE and former ballerina Pietra Mello-Pittman MBE. It has built a global arts and entertainment brand recognised for creating award-winning productions and immersive arts experiences, and both founders were honoured with MBEs for services to the creative industries and international trade. Their experiences have reached over 200 million people worldwide with performances at the Royal Albert Hall, Hampton Court Palace, Carnegie Hall, Dubai Opera, Marina Bay Sands Singapore, and across Asia, Russia and the Middle East.

We are now opening our first permanent home in London’s West End: House of Sisters Grimm, a red-carpet cultural destination rooted in the celebration of South African creativity and culture. Its three pillars are:

• INALA, our Grammy-nominated dance musical co-written with Joseph Shabalala of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, which has toured globally to critical acclaim;

• iGOLI, an exclusively South African fine wine and cocktail bar curated with Michael Fridjhon, widely regarded as the godfather of South African wine, and Sin & Tax, consistently ranked among the top bars in the world;

• The Gallery, launching with Ella Spira’s acclaimed South African landscape series following her solo exhibition at the British Art Fair, Saatchi Gallery.


This milestone is not only cultural but social. We are working with Lawyers Against Abuse to focus our impact around justice reform and the treatment of rape survivors in South Africa, already launching two campaign films with significant media coverage. We are also proud to be directly sponsoring and hosting 11 South African artists in London managing their visas, immigration health charges, accommodation, flights, and living costs. For some this is their first passport and first time leaving the country; for others, it is a chance to represent South Africa again on a world stage.
