The SACC in collaboration with Orbis Investments (U.K.) Limited (sister company of Allan Gray in South Africa) are pleased to invite you to a webinar on Thursday 28th May 2020 at 12:00 discussing these and other financial questions facing SA expats. The webinar, presented by independent financial advisers at Alexander Beard Group, will cover your choices with regards to various financial assets such as retirement funds or endowments, pros and cons of moving your money over to the UK and various risks and considerations for expats. You will have the opportunity to ask the panel about your specific situation and get first hand advice from experts who understand both the UK and SA financial landscape. Gordon Berriman joined Old Mutual in 1991 as a broker consultant serving independent brokers and advisers. In 2000 he joined First National Bank as a financial planner, and then with twin brother, Warren, Abraxas Wealth Management (Pty) Ltd as an independent brokerage in 2003. Paul Beard began his financial services career in 1975 with Property Growth Assurance Company Limited. He subsequently worked for nine years with Allied Dunbar Assurance, leaving in 1987 to launch the Alexander Beard Group business. Since the early 90's, Paul led the Group's international growth to its present position of providing a wide range of international financial services to global expatriates and international companies through its offices in the UK, Australia, France, the Netherlands and the U.S.A. From 2004 until 2009 Paul served as a Director and Council member of the Association of Independent Financial Advisers (A.I.F.A) as well as also having been on the Board of its predecessor I.F.A.A. for 5 yrs up until 2001. Marcel Bradshaw, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Laws (University of Port Elizabeth), Admitted Attorney. Marcel joined Orbis in 2016 and leads the firm's UK retail initiative. He previously worked for Old Mutual in South Africa and more recently in London in various retail business development roles, and prior to that was responsible for building Sanlam's international business and international platforms. Marcel started his career with the Old Mutual Corporate Law division, specialising in tax. Matthew Young began his financial services career in 2008 as a Paraplanner, in Johannesburg, South Africa working for Optimate Financial Services. In 2010 He then moved to Old Mutual Plc as a Business Consultant. While doing this Matthew studied towards his CFP® and when completed moved into financial planning services. In 2016 Matthew moved to a boutique asset management company, Warwick Wealth. Matthew and his wife emigrated to the UK in 2017 and he has subsequently completed level 1 of the CFA programme, he has received his Investment Management Certificate from CFA UK, and has been accepted as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP MCSI) through the CISI.
