The UK Economy in 2026: Stability or Chaos?

Join us for an insightful and timely webinar, “The UK Economy in 2026 – Stability or Chaos?”, with speaker, Philip Shaw, Chief Economist at Investec Bank plc. As businesses, investors, and households navigate one of the most unpredictable economic years in recent memory, Philip will unpack the forces shaping the UK’s financial landscape and what may lie ahead.

We’ll begin with a review of an eventful 2025, examining the economic milestones, market reactions, and unexpected developments that have defined the year so far. With the latest Budget fresh in everyone’s minds, Philip will analyse its implications for 2026, highlighting opportunities, risks, and the sectors set to gain or lose the most.

Interest rates remain a central concern for many, and the question on everyone’s lips is whether we can expect further rate reductions before the year is out. Philip will assess the Bank of England’s direction of travel and what it could mean for borrowing, investment, and consumer confidence.

Politics, too, will take centre stage. With the nation watching closely, we’ll discuss how political dynamics could influence economic stability, as well as the prospects of Sir Keir Starmer’s leadership heading into 2026. Finally, the session will broaden the lens to explore global economic pressures—from international trade shifts to geopolitical tensions—and their impact on the UK’s growth trajectory.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain clarity, context, and expert foresight.  Reserve your place today!
