Strengthening International Business Ties with South Africa
The Isle of Man Indaba is a group of professional service providers from the Isle of Man that recently hosted a series of successful events in South Africa. The events included seminars, round table discussions and networking events held at The Marriot (Melrose Arch) Johannesburg on 19 April, the Radisson Blue Oceans (Umhlanga) Durban on 21 April, The Vineyard Hotel (Newlands) Cape Town on 24 April and Cape Winelands Cavalli Estate (Somerset West) 25 April.
The Isle of Man Indaba has highlighted the cooperation between several Manx businesses to showcase their different services and specialities to South Africans with the support of the Isle of Man Government. Over the last 18 months, we have raised the profile of the Isle of Man as a place to live and do business while showcasing the worldwide opportunities we can introduce to South African companies to assist them in growing within South Africa. Over 200 delegates attended the events and topics of discussion included: managing and preservation of wealth, asset protection, emigration, relocation, banking, business globalisation, wealth planning, multi-family offices, inward and outward investment. The attendees were able to network with key representatives from fiduciary and corporate service providers, family offices providers, banks, wealth managers, pension providers, investment managers, lawyers and representation from Finance Isle of Man and Locate Isle of Man, part of the Isle of Man Government.
The success of the events highlights the continued interest in the Isle of Man as a jurisdiction for international business and the importance of maintaining strong relationships with key countries such as South Africa. The Isle of Man Indaba is set to return to South Africa to host further events and build on relationships made during November 2023.
