Ubuntu Global Networking Webinar

Join us for our monthly Ubuntu Virtual Global Networking event on Thursday 29 May 2025, 12:00 UK time.

Attending our monthly global networking event, on the last Thursday of each month, not only provides a valuable platform to connect with professionals from diverse industries but also embraces the spirit of ubuntu, a fundamental philosophy deeply rooted in South African culture.

We’ll be hosting two dynamic networking sessions during the webinar, where attendees can connect across industries, share knowledge, and exchange ideas.

Ubuntu emphasizes the interconnectedness and importance of community, fostering a sense of togetherness and collaboration.

Our virtual networking events offer numerous benefits such as:
•   Expanding professional connections, in the UK and SA
•   Knowledge sharing
•   Exchanging ideas and business challenges
•   Unlocking career opportunities
•   Enhancing visibility
•   Fostering a sense of emotional support and camaraderie

We are pleased to confirm our speaker for this event is John Battersby, Journalist and SA Chamber founder member, who will talk on the subject: Mandela: Ubuntu unplugged.

John Battersby is an author and communications consultant. He is a former editor of the Sunday Independent in Johannesburg and foreign correspondent in Africa and the Middle East for the New York Times and Christian Science Monitor respectively. He serves on the Advisory Board of the South African Chamber of Commerce in the UK.

Battersby is former chair of trustees of the UK-based Canon Collins Educational and Legal Assistance Trust, co-author with award-winning US journalist David Elliot Cohen of: Nelson Mandela: A Life in Photographs (Sterling 2010) and author of the Afterword in the revised edition of Mandela: The Authorized Biography by Anthony Sampson (Harper Collins, 2011).
